Jeff Bezos

It's Still Day 1

A study of Jeff Bezos: leaving Wall Street to sell books from a garage in 1995, the flywheel, Prime, AWS, the shareholder letters and Blue Origin. A 3D New Shepard launches to space and lands again, and a working 1995 order bell rings for each sale.

It exists because Amazon is so big it is hard to see the handful of ideas it was built on. Each one is shown in a form you can try — including the one-way and two-way doors test.

What to take from it: make reversible decisions fast and irreversible ones slowly, and keep a seven-year view when everyone else is looking at the next quarter.
