The Thought & the Storm

The Law of Attraction and the Butterfly Effect

Two modern myths claim something almost weightless can bend the world: your thoughts summon your future, and a wingbeat can seed a tornado. This study tells both stories properly, with a live simulation of Edward Lorenz's attractor at its heart.

It exists because the two ideas are often blended into one, as if chaos theory proved positive thinking. They came from very different places, and only one of them survives contact with the evidence.

What to take from it: sensitivity to small causes is real, but it can't be steered by wishing. Chaos makes the future unpredictable, not obedient.
